 ZuneInsider has an interesting comment from the Zune team's Design Director, Steve Kaneko. In a few words the new devices have the opposite type of dual-shot: lighter color inside, darker color in the dual-shot, which creates variations depending on the kind of ambient light. Steve Kaneko says also they selected glossy appearance only for the Red model, while the others keep the known matte... |

 The embedded album art on Zune Marketplace tracks was 200x200 or 240x240 pixels, too small and not of the best quality always. The new tracks have updated Album Art, good quality 800x800 pixels photos, a real pleasure. But the album art looks also better on the Zune player which is very important. See below some before-after photos and a another small change on the "Find Album Info" system...

 This is for sure the Brown Zune 30 era. Costo lists it for $99 which is a very good price for a gadget which was listed for $249 a few months ago and for $199 recently. If you don't like Brown, get used to it. Costco doesn't say anything about refurbish, so we can assume this a brand new players deal... |

 According to "The Collective" blog, Microsoft will partner with Reebok to release a $120 package together. We don't know what this is going to be. The price is below the Zune 4 ($149) to be a Reebok limited edition Zune but just fine to be a Reebok limited edition sports-product for Zune.  Microsoft published today the Financial Statements for the 1st Quarter of the 2008 Fiscal Year and it's the fastest first quarter growth for the company since 1999. The revenue was $13.76 billion for the Q1 ended September 30, 2007, a 27% increase over the same period of the prior year. The "Entertainment and Devices Division" which Zune belongs, increased it's revenue 91% (!) of course not because of Zune but because of Halo 3 and Xbox 360... |

 Many blogs have reposted the "Zune Marketplace Anywhere" post from "Microsoft and the Future blog" which says the Zune Marketplace will be available on PC, Zune player, Windows Mobile and MSN Music.
