 Stephan Brechtmann who is responsible for "entertainment & devices" at Microsoft Germany said in Kitzbühel, Austria, on Saturday that the company won't compete against Apple's iPod in the near future in Germany and he gives some reasons for this. He also says Microsoft will have to cooperate with portals such as MusicLoad for Zune in his country... |

 I don't know if the Zune team will be happy or unhappy about this, but MSN has placed Zune in the top 10 List of the Ugliest Products in Tech History. Its not the first time Zune has been placed in such lists but it was about 2006 products, not an all time tech products list! And these days there are many good deals to buy a Brown Zune... |

 Amazon has photos of the Zune 80 and of the Flash Memory Zune packages. They don't differ much from the Zune 30 boxes, but they are black and still have the "Welcome to the Social" slogan printed. In the photos Zune 80 appears with the premium (or similar) Zune headphones, probably they will be included, while the flash Zunes have the current Zune 30 headphones (or similar)... |

 According to ZuneInsider the only player which will have TV out is the Zune 80 and of course the current Zune 30 players. With one difference: the new Zune 80 will have DVD quality TV out while Zune 30 will remain at 320x240... |

 Engadget has the battery life reports for the new Zune 2 players. Generally the new players have increased it both for audio and video use for about 50%. Their battery also charges quite fast up to the 90% charge level. There are still details missing for uses with Wifi ON or with the AC charger. Read the available info up to now below.  OK, I have to say wow! ZuneInsider reports Zune 2 will import 720x576 @ 25fps and 720x480 @ 30 fps without transcoding. Although Zune's screen is 320x240 the TV out will show videos in full, DVD, quality on the TV. Here is your pocket DVD player compared to Zune 1 320x240 only TV out. EDIT: ZuneInsider says only the Zune 80 has a TV out, not Zune 4 or Zune 8... |

 Maybe you remember the Microsoft Surface, the multi-touch table Microsoft introduced some months ago. Back then Zune platform didn't support syncing via Wifi, something that has now changed. Microsoft had demonstrated Zunes syncing and sharing photos and tracks on Surface and I suppose now it can be easily implemented and we should expect the announcement shortly... |
