I cant believe Microsoft sells an Mp3 player {ZUNE} That is not compatible with every version of windows. What a joke. How hard would it be to at least offer an un-advanced version of zune software that would allow you to put music on your Player..Damn your marketing objectives Bill Gates, we know your just trying to sell VISTA. I've tooken back my Zune and bought SANSA E280, 8 gig movie, music, pic, radio player for $120.00 at Best Buy..Compatible with Win 98 all the way to Vista. Freaking awesome Player. I'm running MEDIA CENTER 2002. - MICROSOFT IS THE DEVIL.

hi@all
i found a way to use zune 2 software and drivers with Windows Xp Pro 64Bit. Music syncing works, didnt test video or picture syncing.
I used this installer (http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/ztools/13531-superior-zune-installation-program-v2-redux.html) which will install the software on any OS. The driver delivered in this thread didnt work so i downloaded the original 64bit installer from microsoft. But dont try to install it, an error willl be the result. You have to unpack the exe (zunesetuppkg-x64.exe) with winrar etc, and start one of the .msi files in a language of your choice. This will install the Zune 2 software again (now you have 2 of them, one in "Program Files (x86)" and one in "Program Files"). Now plug your zune in and choose to select the driver location by yourself. Choose "C:\Program Files\Zune\drivers" or the location of the .msi installed files. After doing that you can uninstall the original version of the zune software (which you installed by the msi file) with UnZoone. The software in the x86 directory is the one you can use now
Have Fun! ;D - DarkFitzi
