If you have any problems installing Zune MarketPlace we'll be happy to help you solve them.
You can download the Zune MarketPlace from here: http://www.box.net/public/79e5zr2i98#main

Let as know if this link stops working.

EDIT: You can solve this problem using FLX's script:
http://www.flx-tech.net/2006/12/fix_for_installing_zune_softwa.html

Be quick, this won't be here forever Wink

When installing it I had seen this error previously on other blogs. So I changed my computers date 10 days in the future and disconnected it from the internet. I had no problems after that.

I don't know which one of the above is the solution, but you can try them both!

Ok, I've tried them but with no luck  Cry

Now I've tried to download from zune.net and when it finished checking for updates the next button dissapears and the only choice is to close the setup program.

I don't know what else to do. I've deleted all the entries on the registry, restarted my computer a lot of times, I stop all my programs (like antivirus,outlook...) before starting the installation and I've tried it on three different computers and it didn't work in any of them.

Does this mean that I could not use zune? Because I have already ordered one  Embarrassed

Well, this is where I am now:

I've extracted the zune.msi from zunesetup.exe, and then I've extracted the files in that package. The problem is that now I need to know the directory structure to put every file where it belongs.

I've been investigating the log file too, and I've noticed that I don't have this entry on my registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Rollback\Scripts
and I think that this is why the installation fails.
In fact the 1402 error means:
Could not open key:[2].{{System error[3].}} Verify that you have sufficient access to that key , or contact your support personnel.

I'm still working on it, if I get any results I'll tell you.

Can you tell me the directory structure? I guess that the program is installed in program files/zune, thank you.

I can't call to microsoft support because I'm from Spain, and they haven't provided an email.
I'm getting one zune to write a review.

Thank you,
Nuria.

I have write access to that registry key you say. Check if your account has administrator priviledges.
start -> control panel -> User accounts. After opening this menu click on the account you use and click properties.

Set you account to group: "Other" and select administrators from the drop down menu.

I can give you the directory listing, but I don't think you can do something with this. It is a registry permissions problem.

Yes, I have administrator priviledges. The problem is that this registry doen't exist.
Under Installer key I have Folders, ResolveIOD, Secure, UgradeCodes and UserData, but not Rollback.

I've tried to install the last version of windows installer, but nothing has changed  Embarrassed

Thank you for your reply and help.

I don't think you are in Spain has something to do ...
Maybe you should turn off your antivirus ?

Windows  Cheesy

No, well at work I have kaspersky and outlook, but before begin the installation I stop them.
At home I have azureus and kaspersky, and I stop them too.
And I don't have non of these on my laptop.
So I can't guess what can the problem is.

I've tried in other two computers at work, and the same results, at some point the installation stops and always says the same in the zuneinstall.log  Undecided
