Toshiba has announced two new members of the Gigabeat Series, T401 and T401S, will be released in Japan on September 7th. These are 4GB Flash-Memory players, with QVGA 2.4" screen. T401 has wireless connectivity which enables the player to connect directly to Wifi access points and download podcasts. The user interface is based on the Windows Mobile OS...
The current Zune model is based (or mostly identical) to the Toshiba Gigabeat S30. As Microsoft executives have announced many times in the past, a smaller flash-memory Zune will be released some time in the future and any Toshiba's new music players are good candidates to check.
These two lack the FM-radio Zune currently has and that could be a problem for the Zune brand. Another good candidate for a new Zune, is also the Toshiba's U Series players . Of course Microsoft maybe is also constructing its own hardware, the Xbox 360 way of doing things.
