Microsoft has left a small window open to the 3-plays restriction, when someone sends you a track from another Zune using Wifi. If the track has as genre "Podcast" in it's tags, the rule doesn't apply. So the bad kids of you can use it for tagging normal music as podcasts which can later be sent to other Zune owners...
From ZuneScene : To enable this tag right click on one or more files and select properties. Assign the tag as shown.
After tagging the files in Windows add them to the PC Zune library. Obviously they will appear in the podcast menu rather than the music menu. The option to send an entire podcast album is missing but the tracks can be sent free and clear of DRM. The receiver of the file may choose to reverse sync and properly tag the file as music later on.
Nice trick! Oh, by the way I have a few podcasts that are not tagged as "Podcasts". Isn't it strange to not be able to use this feature for what it was originally intended for ?! As Gizmodo says using this track to pirate music may send your soul to hell (wirelessly), so if you've never been there before, that should be quite of an experience ;) [via Gizmodo ]
