A member of the ZuneScene forum, rcmadiax, has some photos from the future. He works for a major retailer and this is what they got from Microsoft for the October 7th display: Cardboard models of the new Zune 2.0 hard-disk and flash memory players. See the photos after the jump...
From ZuneScene :
I work at a major retailer and we just received a display set for October 7th featuring the new zunes. [...] No prices yet. Just received a huge white box with the Zune branding on it. It was a new demo display for the zune brand. No actual product just 3 cardboard cut outs of new models. 2 smaller "flash" based looking models and a normal "hard-drive" based looking model. This look very sim to the photos leaked weeks ago, but have more polish and don't look so cheaply made. All three with play videos. The box also stated that it was box 1 of 2 and that we will receive the other within 48 hours of the first. I'll take more pics tomorrow.
As we can see they look like the Gizmodo-leak photo some days ago! Links: Flickr Zune 2.0 Cardboard photo set
