3-2-1 Ignition, for Microsoft in the entertainment business. This new service will be introduced on Monday and its concept is to promote emerging bands and artists on Microsoft services as MSN, Zune and Xbox Live...
This act won't cancel other Zune promotional efforts for artists but will come as a broader addition to those. Exclusive content from artists is of course something Ignition will be looking for, as Microsoft director of music marketing Christina Calio said: "We don't want the same thing that is going out on MTV." The first band participating in this is Maximo Park from UK.
Maybe these were the hot news we were expecting back on 1st May Christina Calio to announce on NARM conference, but never did. Read more on Reuters . EDIT (June 5th): Here is the official announcement . [via CrunchGear ] Related articles: NARM: get ready for big Zune news NARM: No Zune News-Good News? Zune acts and thinks like a Record Label
