Digging around can get you some very interesting results: How do you explain a photo named project Milan (code name for the Microsoft Surface), talking about the release of the Milan Media Player on Nov 14th (Zune release date) and showing photos from executives of the Zune team with photos of the Microsoft Surface. An error ? Or...
Long Zheng found this very interesting image below and posted it in his blog:
From IStartedSomething: But whilst digging around the Flash file, I also found a piece of image leftover from the project’s development process that either holds some relevance or I’m just over-reacting to mindless filler-text. Nevertheless, I thought I should share it.
What do we see here ? Some "Media Images" obviously belog to the new Microsoft Surface project. Below them are five Zune Team Executives. From Left to Right: Bryan Lee (left the Zune team some months ago), J. Allard, Matt Jubelirer, Chris Stephenson and Scott Erickson. You can read their bios on Zune.net . At the right there are some announcement dates about the Milan Project (code name for Microsoft Surface). Check this one: Aug 13: Microsoft new Milan Media Player on Store Selves on Nov 14. But on November 14th 2006 we all know that Zune player was released! So how could the Surface Project be related to Zune except from both are part of the Microsoft Entertainment and Devices Division? Maybe there were parts of the same project in the past but somehow they were separated. If you have watched the Surface presentation videos, Microsoft considers the possibility to connect it to Zune. But another idea says these are not 2006 dates, but announcement dates in 2007. You know something like the 5 seals of the Microsoft Surface Apocalypse :P . And the first one is open: May 14th (2 weeks out of schedule!): Microsoft Milan Delivers Connected Music and entertainment. And lLets call it a Zune 2.0 rumor.
And of course a third possibility, this photo is a test for something and we shouldn't bother talking about it. Related articles: Firmware v2.1.4 for Wifi downloading? (Add some Surface to this rumor, and there you have it)
