Just updated the software
started uploading some new music videos and pictures
and it froze on me

This update also allows users under 18 to preview and purchase explicit content (with parental allowance), in the previous version there was an error that didn't allow anyone under 18, even with parental allowance, to purchase or preview explicit content.

One problem I found with the new software is when you add a new album cover, all my blank covers get that cover. a simple workaround is after you add the new cover, go into the folder containing your music and delete the file Zunecustomart.jpg. (its a hidden file so you will need to turn on the ability to see hidden files.) If its too late, go to %userprofile%Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftZuneart cache , turn on thumbnail view and look for copies of the artwork you added that are hidden files. 9 times out of 10 these are the offending covers, so you may need to delete all copies and add the artwork again.

I was thinking about buying a Zune, but after reading comments of how Microsoft makes it hard to do basic functions with it like syncing with other programs besides its own and no Plays4Sure support, I'm going to pass.

Even WindowsMobile devices have easier times with things like this. You have little marketshare Microsoft and now you're making it harder for people to use your product that has no EQ on it? The iPod Classic isn't the best thing, but they don't stop you from using other programs with it. MediaMonkey works with it (no issues so far). Sure, I wish it could do subscription music, but at least I have a choice in what I want to sync my device with.

Zune's are really nice. but there the program to put music on sucks. i want to be able to put music on by making my own folders. when i go to artist, i have like 3 different selections for the same group, just because one is capitalized and another one isn't. and you cant even run the program on older windows. why cant you make it a little versatile? If my PSP had a 20 Gig memory stick i wouldn't even have bought this Zune80.

microsoft leave the small media players to the mac guys they do such a wonderful job at it
this zune sucks if i had'nt payed for it id toss it out the window. just to complicated.

This firmware sucks, i had my zune running great then when i installed the new update for it, i lost all my artists names, and album names the only thing that shows up are the song names and it;s really anoying to scroll through 10 gigs of music.

I second that motion. Zune sync. software sucks. Why can't Microsoft allow 3rd party syncing software? Ironic that a software company made decent hardware and really horrible software. Oh, wait I forgot, its the company that gave us the blue screen of death!

WAKE UP MICROSOFT!!! ARE YA STOOPID??? Your software sucks. Make one that allows it to be recognized as a hard drive so we people that have some knowledge can set up our Zunes the way we want them!! As much as I hated my iPod and iTunes, this is ridiculous! Bill needs to quit working on charities and get back to kicking his idiot designers asses again!

I bought my Zune a while ago and made he mistake of buying my wife one! IDIOT! The software is freaking horendous! It locks up my PC evrytime I try to use it. I guess Bill Gates could care less now that he's out of the pictue saving the world! Save your money and sanity and buy a generic mp3 player and use media player instead!
